Nastia AI is a companion app for adults, built around one-on-one chats with customizable AI characters that develop memory and personality, with voice and generated images inside the conversation. Picasso IA is a creative studio of 488 models for images, video, voice and music, with no persistent companion and free credits to start.
Nastia AI and Picasso IA sit in different aisles of the same shop. Nastia AI is an AI companion app made for adults: you pick a character or build your own, talk with it one-on-one, and the character gathers memory and personality as the conversation continues, with voice messages and generated images or video available inside the chat. The relationship with the character is the product. Picasso IA is a creative studio: 488 models for text to image, text to video, 3D, voice, music, upscaling and more, plus the language models of the catalog, where the result is a file you take away and use somewhere else.
If what you are after is a companion to talk to, one who is still the same character next week and has not forgotten what you said, Nastia AI is built for that and Picasso IA is not. Picasso IA is not a companion app: there is no persistent persona and no relationship memory. If what you are after is the picture, the clip, the voiceover or the song itself, to publish, to print or to drop into a project, a studio with many models and a visible cost per generation is the better shape for the job.
One housekeeping note before the details. This page compares kinds of product, not content rules, and it says nothing about how either one moderates anything. On Picasso IA the rule is fictional adults only, and models differ in what they accept, so check each model page before you plan around a use. The sections below cover what each side gives away, what changes when you pay, how each one produces its results, what each covers beyond stills, and who should pick which.
Seven rows answered with a yes or a no, then four that need a phrase, because a tick cannot say what a companion chat feels like next to a studio.

Picasso IA leads on 1 row, Nastia AI leads on 3, and the other 7 come down to what you came to do.
Notice which side the losses fall on. The three rows Nastia AI wins are the whole point of a companion app: a character that persists, a cast of characters that can talk to each other, and a personality you write once and keep. Picasso IA does not attempt any of them, and no number of models on our side turns a generation studio into a relationship. The one row we win is a format a chat app has no reason to cover.
A new Picasso IA account starts with free credits, and they spend on the same catalog everyone else uses, not on a stripped-down demo: run an image model, a video model or a voice before you decide anything. You can also browse the community collection and the effects gallery without paying, which shows what the catalog really produces instead of what a landing page promises. The interface speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic and Hindi.
The free side of a companion app is a different kind of question, because what you are sampling is a character, not a model. The interesting test is whether you like talking to it: whether the personality feels like someone, whether the memory holds up across a few sessions, whether the voice suits it. How much of that Nastia AI lets you try before paying, and what it holds back, is its own information to publish and it can change, so read it on Nastia AI's own site rather than trusting a comparison page.
The honest split: if you want to see a finished image or a short clip from a prompt you wrote in the first five minutes, with the cost visible before each run, Picasso IA gives you that straight away. If you want to find out whether a companion character is the kind of company you enjoy, only a companion app can answer that, and a studio cannot fake it.
On Picasso IA, paying buys credits. Every generation costs credits, the cost depends on the model and on the settings you choose, and heavier work such as video costs more than a still image. You see the cost before you run a job. The numbers live on the pricing page and nowhere else, because plans change and an article with a stale figure helps nobody.
On a companion app, paying usually means something closer to a subscription to the experience: more time with your characters, more of the extras around them such as voice or generated media, and fewer interruptions to the conversation. What a paid plan on Nastia AI actually unlocks, and how it is billed, is Nastia AI's to publish and to change, so this page does not guess.
Ask yourself what you would be paying for. If the answer is more time with one or several characters, that is the companion model and it points at Nastia AI. If the answer is a stack of finished files, a mood board this week, a product clip next week, a narration after that, then credits that follow the job fit better than a monthly relationship. Because Picasso IA charges per generation, a quiet month costs you nothing beyond the credits you chose to spend.
This section earns its length, because it is where Nastia AI is genuinely better at something Picasso IA cannot copy, and the difference deserves to be spelled out.
Nastia AI generates inside a relationship. You talk to a character, the character answers in its own voice and temperament, and what it remembers about you shapes what it says next. When you ask for an image or a clip, the request arrives in the middle of that conversation, so the character already knows who it is, what it looks like and what you were talking about. Continuity is the product: you never re-describe the character, because the character is the thing that persists. A group chat pushes the same idea further, with several characters answering each other and you at once, which is a format a studio has no equivalent for.
Picasso IA generates in separate jobs. You pick a model, write a prompt or attach files, and generate in the toolkit; each run is a standalone request with its own settings and its own visible cost, and the result lands in your history as a file. Nothing in the studio remembers you from one run to the next as a person, and nothing plays a character. If you want the same fictional character to appear across many images, you hold that consistency yourself with reference images and a model that respects them, the workflow described in our piece on consistent AI characters. It works, and it is control rather than company.
The studio makes the opposite bet and the strengths are different, not lesser. You choose among 488 models for the job: FLUX 2 Pro or Seedream 5 Pro for stills, nano banana pro for edits that leave the rest of an image alone, Kling v3 or Veo 3.1 for motion, and the large language models of the catalog when you want to chat with text. When a stronger model arrives it sits next to the older one, so you can always see which model produced which file. The cost is that you are the one choosing, and a studio will never greet you by name.
There is also Supercomputer, an agent in a chat: you describe the result you want in plain words, it plans the job, picks models from the catalog, renders the steps and shows you the result, and you steer it in the same conversation. It is a separate product from the toolkit, which is where you pick the model yourself, and you can read how it works in the creative agent. It is a worker taking a brief, though, not a companion with a personality, and the difference matters if what you came for is someone to talk to.
For still images, both can make them, and the real difference is where the image comes from. In Nastia AI it comes out of a conversation with a character, so the picture tends to be about that character and that moment. In Picasso IA it comes from a prompt aimed at a model chosen for that style, so the range is wider: photographs, illustrations, product shots, logos and layouts, with no character required.
Video follows the same split. Nastia AI can produce generated video inside the chat, in service of the conversation. Picasso IA treats video as a format of its own, with several dedicated engines such as Kling v3, Veo 3.1 and Wan 3, covering text to video, image to video and motion control, plus a lipsync category for matching a voice to a face in your own clip. Faces and voices on Picasso IA belong to you or to fictional characters, never to a real, identifiable person.
Audio is where the two feel most different. A companion app can send the character's voice back to you as a message, which is part of what makes the character feel present. Picasso IA does not give you a talking companion, but it does give you voice as a production tool: text to speech models such as Speech 2.8 HD, voice cloning for a voice you have the right to use, speech to text, and a music category with models such as Music 1.5, so you can score and narrate your own projects.
Then 3D. Hunyuan 3D 3.1 turns a picture into a 3D model, and there are more 3D models beside it. A companion chat has little reason to offer that, so if 3D matters to your work, this is the side to look at. Twelve categories in total sit in the catalog, from text to image to enhance videos and speech to text, which is the plain advantage of a studio over a single-purpose app: the format you did not plan to need is already there.
Nastia AI is arranged around the conversation with a character, so it is not the natural place to look for a toolbox for files you bring with you. Its own site is the place to check what it offers beyond chat. If your job is to take a photo you already own and make it better, a companion app is simply not the shape of tool you need, and it would be unfair to pretend the comparison is closer than it is.
Picasso IA treats editing as dedicated tools that accept any image, made on the platform or not. Upload a photo and remove its background with the background remover in the catalog, upscale a small file with an upscaler such as Clarity Pro Upscaler, or hand nano banana pro an instruction to change one thing while leaving the rest. The effects gallery adds one-click preset effects for when you want a look without writing a prompt. Each of these shows its credit cost before it runs, so testing an upscaler on a real file is a cheap experiment.
A small caution that applies to any edit: work on images you own or have the right to use, and keep to fictional adults when characters are involved. Picasso IA is not a place to alter a photograph of a real person without their agreement.
Speed on Picasso IA follows the model. Fast image models answer in seconds, frontier models take longer, and video takes the longest because video is expensive to compute everywhere. The credit cost shown before you run tracks that reality. The same models and the same credits are available through the API and the MCP server, so a job you ran by hand can later run from code or from inside a chat client such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor; see one API for all models for how that works.
A companion chat is paced like a conversation: replies come back as messages, and how often you can talk, send voice or request media is governed by Nastia AI's own rules, which are its to publish and to change. Check them on its site before you depend on them. If something on Picasso IA behaves oddly, support is the place to ask.
Commercial use is where the two ask the most different questions. A companion app is a private space, and nobody usually plans a business around the chat itself. A studio produces assets people do publish, so licensing matters: Picasso IA models come with their own licences and those can differ from model to model, so read the page of the model you rely on before you ship anything. What you may do with media made in Nastia AI is set by its own terms, which you should read directly. On both, never use a real person's likeness, and review anything you intend to publish before it goes out.
Eight honest reasons, four per side. If your real alternative is a general chat assistant rather than a companion, the ChatGPT comparison fits your decision better, and if what you want from audio is a voice for narration, the ElevenLabs comparison goes deeper on that.
Choose Picasso IA instead when the output is a file you will use, when you want a visible cost per generation, when you need formats a chat app does not cover such as 3D and music, or when you want to reach the same models from code, an agent or a chat client.
Most people do not swap one for the other: a companion app and a studio answer different needs, so treat this as adding a tool. Keep your characters and conversations where they live, and use Picasso IA for the files.
No. Picasso IA is a generation studio for images, video and voice, plus the language models of the catalog. It has no persistent persona and no relationship memory, so it will not become a character who remembers you across weeks. If a companion is what you want, Nastia AI is the kind of product built for that, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
Yes, with a different method from a companion app. You write the character's look down, generate with a model that follows references, and attach your best result to later prompts. The character persists because you carry it, not because the studio remembers it. Our guide to consistent AI characters walks through the approach, and it applies to fictional adult characters only.
Not as a conversation. Picasso IA offers text to speech, voice cloning for a voice you are entitled to use, and lipsync models, so you can produce a voiceover or a talking clip as a file. What it does not do is speak back to you as a character who knows you. A companion app handles that part; the studio handles making the audio you publish.
Yes, for fictional adult characters. The rule on Picasso IA is fictional adults only, never a real or identifiable person and nobody who could read as a minor. Models also differ in what they accept, so check the page of each model before you plan a project around it. If a request is not accepted by a model, try another or ask support.
No. They answer different needs, and plenty of people reasonably want both: a companion for conversation and a studio for files. Keep your characters wherever you like to talk to them, then open Picasso IA when you need an image, a clip, a voice or a song produced on purpose.
We avoid printing numbers for either product in an article, because plans change and a stale figure misleads more than no figure. Picasso IA charges credits per generation, new accounts get free credits, and the cost depends on the model and the settings; the current plans are on the pricing page. What Nastia AI charges, and what its plans include, is published on its own site.
Check before you do. On Picasso IA each model carries its own licence, which can differ between models, so read the model page and the platform rules for anything you plan to sell or publish. For media made inside Nastia AI, its own terms apply. On either side, avoid real people's likenesses and trademarks, and review the result before it goes live.
Yes. You can create an API key in your account, send a request naming a model and its inputs, and get the generated file back, using the same models and the same credits as the toolkit. MCP-capable clients such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor can also generate images, video and voice from the catalog inside a conversation. A companion app is used in its own chat.
No. There is no partnership, no affiliate arrangement and no payment in either direction between Picasso IA and Nastia AI, or any other product named on these pages. Nastia AI appears here because people weighing a companion chat against a creative studio search for this exact comparison, and the most useful answer is a straight one rather than a sales pitch in disguise.
For what it sets out to be, yes, and this page has tried to say so throughout. It is a companion app for adults that puts a customizable character at the centre, lets that character build memory and personality, adds voice and generated media to the conversation, and extends the idea to group chats with several characters. Doing that well is a different craft from running a generation studio, and if a companion is what you want, it is a sensible place to look.
If you came for pictures, clips and voices rather than company, open the toolkit with a prompt you already like and spend your free credits on one real job. The results will tell you more than any comparison page.
