OurDream AI is an adult-oriented companion and character builder: you design a character, talk to them, hear them in voice calls and generate images and video of them. Picasso IA is a generation studio of 488 models for images, video, voice and 3D of fictional characters, with free credits to start and no persistent persona to keep up.
OurDream AI and Picasso IA both make pictures and video, and then they point in opposite directions. OurDream AI is an adult-oriented AI companion and character builder: you design a character by choosing a look (realistic or anime), a personality and a voice, and then you talk to that character, hear them in voice calls and generate images and video of them. The character is the product, and everything else hangs off it. Picasso IA is a generation studio: 488 models across twelve categories, covering text to image, text to video, 3D, voice, music, editing and large language models, where the model is the unit and you decide what to make with it.
If what you want is one persistent character who remembers what you said last week, talks back in a voice and shows up in new pictures that match the look you chose, OurDream AI is built for exactly that and Picasso IA is not. Picasso IA is not a companion app: there is no persistent persona and no relationship memory. The catalog includes language models you can prompt, but each one is a model you use, not a character who grows with you. If instead you want fictional characters as raw material, a portrait from one model, a short clip from another, a narration track from a third, and you want to pick the right model for each job, Picasso IA is where that work happens.
One rule belongs at the top. On Picasso IA, characters are fictional adults only, never a real or identifiable person, and models differ in what they accept, so check each model page before you plan a project around it. The sections below cover what each side gives away for free, what paying changes, how each one makes a character, what each covers beyond pictures, and who should pick which. Where OurDream AI is the better fit, this page says so at length, because for its own job it is.
The first seven rows are plain yes or no questions whose answers do not change from month to month, and the last four need a phrase. Most of the rows OurDream AI wins are the same fact seen from three sides, which is what you would expect from a product arranged around a character.
| Feature | Picasso IA | OurDream AI |
|---|---|---|
| Text-to-image generation | Yes | Yes |

Picasso IA leads on 0 rows, OurDream AI leads on 3, and the other 8 come down to what you need.
Weigh the rows that match your plans instead of counting all of them. The three rows OurDream AI wins describe one experience: a character who persists, speaks to you and lives in a library other people can browse, and if that is the experience you came for, nothing in a model catalog replaces it. No row goes to Picasso IA on a plain yes or no, because its reach beyond pictures is a matter for the sections below and not something a checkbox can show. The four ties say how evenly the two sit on images, video, visual styles and a free start, which is why the sections that follow spend their time on the differences in how you get there.
A new Picasso IA account starts with free credits that spend on the same 488 models everyone else uses, not on a stripped-down demo. You can run an image model, a video model and a text-to-speech voice before you decide anything, and you can browse the collection and the effects gallery without paying, which shows what the catalog produces rather than what a page says it produces. The interface is in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic and Hindi.
OurDream AI also lets you start before you pay, the way most companion apps do, so you can build a character and see what the first conversations feel like. Exactly what the free side includes is OurDream AI's own information to publish and it changes, so the current shape of it is on its site and not on this page.
The two free experiences answer different questions. Picasso IA's free credits tell you whether a given model makes the kind of picture, clip or voice you had in mind, and you can compare several models on the same prompt. OurDream AI's free side tells you something we cannot test for you: whether a character built in that app feels like someone you want to keep talking to. That is a question about conversation and memory, and no credit spent in a generation studio answers it.
On Picasso IA, paying buys credits, and credits are what every generation costs. The cost depends on the model and the settings you pick, so a quick still image costs less than a long video clip, and plans differ in how many credits they hold. The numbers live on the pricing page and nowhere in this article, because plans change and a stale figure is worse than none. There is no subscription to a character, since there is no character to subscribe to: you pay for what you generate, when you generate it.
On OurDream AI, paying is about getting more of what the product is arranged around: more of the companion experience around the character you built. The tiers, what they unlock and what they cost are its own to publish, and this page does not restate any of it.
The practical way to decide is to ask what you would be buying. A relationship with one character that you return to for months is the thing OurDream AI sells, and spending there goes into that continuity. Varied output, a portrait today, a clip next week, a voiceover after that, maybe a 3D asset, is what credits on Picasso IA are for. If you will mostly open the app to talk, paying for a studio is paying for a feature you will not use, and the reverse is just as true.
This is where the two products stop resembling each other, and it is also where OurDream AI is genuinely better at something worth naming carefully, so it gets the longest section on the page.
OurDream AI starts from the character. You choose an appearance, realistic or anime, shape a personality and pick a voice, and from then on the pictures, the voice and the conversation all refer back to that one design. That is a real piece of product thinking. Anyone who has tried to keep a face stable across a dozen separate generations knows how much work it takes, and a companion builder takes that work off you by making the character a saved thing in the app rather than a prompt you re-type. Memory does the same for the story: the companion carries earlier conversations forward, so the thread does not reset each time you open it.
Picasso IA makes the opposite bet. Nothing in the catalog is a saved character. You pick a model for the job, FLUX 2 Pro for a photographic portrait, Seedream 5 Pro for an illustrated look, Nano Banana Pro when you want to change one thing in a picture and leave the rest alone, and each of them is a different tool with its own strengths. Keeping a character consistent is something you do with reference images and careful prompts, not something a profile does for you, and our guide to consistent AI characters walks through how. It works, and it is more hands-on than a builder that remembers the face for you.
What you get in exchange is range. The same toolkit that makes the portrait also makes the video, the voice and the 3D mesh, and when a stronger model ships in any category it appears next to the older one. The character you describe is a fictional adult, always, and it lives in your files and your prompt history, not inside a persona that talks back. If you would rather steer in plain words, the creative agent takes a description of the result, picks models from the catalog and shows you the steps, which is the nearest thing Picasso IA has to a guided build, and it is still a generation workflow, not a relationship.
So the honest split is this. For a character you want to know you, OurDream AI is the more natural tool, because it was built to hold that character together. For a character you want to use, in a portrait series, a short film, a game asset or a set of product shots, Picasso IA gives you more control over each output and more kinds of output.
For images the two overlap heavily. Both turn a description into a picture, and both can lean realistic or anime. OurDream AI aims its images at the character you built, so they arrive already in that look. Picasso IA's strength is the spread of models behind the same task: photographic, illustrated, stylized, graphic, each chosen for the result you want, with the cost visible before you run it.
Video overlaps too. OurDream AI can make video of your character inside the same app, which is convenient when the clip is part of the story you are telling. Picasso IA offers several dedicated video engines, including Kling V3 Video and Veo 3.1, with text to video and image to video, so a still you made earlier can become the opening frame of a shot. Different engines favor different things, motion quality, length, how closely they follow a reference, and that choice is yours.
Audio is where the products are different in kind. OurDream AI offers voice calls, which is a live conversation with the character. Picasso IA does not do that: it has no character on the other end. What it has is audio as a file you make, text to speech voices such as MiniMax Speech 2.8 HD for narration, music generation such as Lyria 3, speech to text for transcripts and lip sync tools such as Kling Lip Sync to put a recorded line onto a fictional character's face. If you are making a short film or a narrated video, that is a production toolkit. If you want someone to answer you, it is not.
The last gap is 3D. Picasso IA turns an image into a 3D model through Hunyuan 3D 3.1, which is useful for games, props and prototypes. We do not compare OurDream AI on 3D, and its own site is the place to see which formats it covers. Across all four formats the picture is consistent: OurDream AI goes deep on the character you build, and Picasso IA goes wide across every format, with no persistent persona holding it together.
Picasso IA treats editing as a set of dedicated tools that accept any image, whether you made it in the toolkit or not. Upscale a small picture with an upscaler such as Topaz Image Upscale, cut a subject out of its background with Bria Remove Background, or ask Nano Banana Pro to change a single detail, a jacket color, the light in the room, an object on a table, without redrawing the whole scene. Each tool shows its credit cost up front, the same way generation does, so trying one on a real file is a small experiment.
OurDream AI organizes its image side around the character you built. That is a different design, not a lesser one: the pictures are built around the look you defined, and as far as this page can tell the product is not trying to be a general photo editor. If it offers touch-up tools inside that flow, its own site is the place to read about them, and this page does not guess.
The practical difference shows up when you already have images. A set of portraits you made elsewhere, a render that needs a clean cutout for a poster, a low-resolution picture that has to print larger: those jobs belong in a studio with dedicated tools, and Picasso IA is that. Staying inside the app that holds the character is the natural choice for pictures of the character you are already talking to, and its own site says what it offers for that. As with generation, the useful question is which side of your work is the bigger one, a character you live with or files you ship.
Speed on Picasso IA follows the model. Fast image models answer in seconds, the heavier frontier models take longer, and video takes minutes because video is expensive to compute anywhere, which is why the credit cost in front of you tracks the same reality. Voice calls on OurDream AI are a live conversation, a different thing from a render job, and this page does not try to compare their speeds.
Limits on Picasso IA come from the models themselves. Different models accept different inputs and handle different kinds of content, so the model page is where to check what a given one allows before you build a plan around it. The rule across the platform does not change: fictional adults only, never a real or identifiable person, and nobody who could read as a minor. What OurDream AI allows is described in its own terms, which are its to publish and to change, so read them directly.
Commercial use works the same cautious way on both. On Picasso IA, check the licence of each model and the platform rules before you sell or publish anything made with it, because licences can differ between models. On a companion app, the terms of the service govern the characters and pictures you make inside it, and they are worth reading before you plan to use them outside it. No licence removes the separate risk that a generated image resembles a real person, a trademark or a distinctive artist's style closely enough to cause a problem, so review anything you publish. For quick questions about either platform's rules on our side, support is the right place to ask.
Eight reasons, four for each side. If your decision is really about browsing community-made work or about a different kind of character tool, the Civitai comparison and the OpenArt comparison may line up better with what you are weighing than this page does.
Choose Picasso IA instead when you want to make fictional characters on your own terms: a portrait series, a short video, a narrated clip or a 3D asset, with 488 models to pick from and the cost visible before you run anything. It also fits when the characters are for a project, a game, a story or a brand rather than for a conversation, and when you want dedicated editing tools that behave the same way on every file you bring.
Nothing here asks you to leave. You can keep the companion where it lives and use the studio for the production work around it, so treat this as adding a tool. A character built inside a companion app lives in that app unless it offers a way to export it, so what reliably carries over to Picasso IA is the idea of the character, written down.
It depends on the job. For making images, video, voice and 3D of fictional characters with many models to choose from, yes. For one companion who remembers you, talks back and has a saved look, no, because Picasso IA is not a companion app and has no persistent persona or relationship memory. They overlap on pictures and video and diverge on almost everything around them.
Partly, and with more effort than a companion builder asks of you. You make a reference picture with one model, then use image-editing and reference-driven models such as Nano Banana Pro to place the same fictional character in new scenes. It is a workflow you run, not a saved profile. The guide to consistent AI characters explains the steps and where results drift.
No. Picasso IA has no persistent persona and no relationship memory. The catalog includes large language models you can prompt like any other model, but each session is a fresh generation and nothing grows into a character over time. If a companion that carries your history forward is what you want, that is what OurDream AI is built around, and you should choose it for that.
Not as a live call. Picasso IA makes voice as a file: you write a line, pick a text-to-speech model and get audio back, which you can pair with a video of a fictional character through a lip sync model. There is nobody on the other end who answers. Live voice calls with a character are a feature of OurDream AI, so that need points to the companion app.
Yes, both. The catalog includes several video models for text to video and image to video, and an image-to-3D model that turns a picture into a mesh. Video and 3D cost more credits than a still image, and the cost is shown before you run the job. Models differ in what they accept, so open the model page before you plan around one.
No, and the two do different jobs. One workable setup is to keep a companion in OurDream AI for the ongoing conversation and use Picasso IA when you need a specific model, a clean cutout, an upscaled file, a narrated clip or a 3D asset. Nothing about trying Picasso IA requires you to give up anything you already use.
New Picasso IA accounts get free credits. After that, every generation costs credits, and the amount depends on the model and the settings you pick, so a still image costs less than a long video. We keep the numbers on the pricing page and do not print any for OurDream AI, whose plans are its own to publish and change.
Check before you rely on it. On Picasso IA, licences can differ from one model to the next, so read the licence on the model page and the platform rules before you publish or sell anything. On OurDream AI, its own terms govern what you make inside it. Review any commercial image for resemblance to a real person, a trademark or a recognizable artist's style.
No. There is no partnership, no affiliate arrangement and no payment in either direction between Picasso IA and OurDream AI, or any other product named on these pages. Its name appears here because people deciding between a companion builder and a generation studio search for exactly this comparison, and an honest answer is more useful to them than a pitch dressed up as one.
For what it sets out to do, yes, and this page has tried to say so throughout. Building a character, giving them a look and a personality, keeping a memory of your conversations, hearing them in voice calls and seeing new pictures of them, all in one app with a library of community characters to start from, is a coherent product with a clear audience. A model catalog was never trying to replace it, and people who want a companion are right to choose it.
If the other half of your plan is making images, video, voice or 3D of fictional characters with the model you pick, open the toolkit with a prompt you already like and spend the free credits on one real job. If the results earn a place in your work, the pricing page is where the plans live.
